Are you our new Assist Support Organiser?

We are seeking a highly motivated and driven individual who can work with the HACSU Assist team and build relationships with HACSU members.

HACSU Assist is one of the most important teams in the union. It is sometimes the first and only contact members have with the union. The team provides advice, support and guidance to HACSU members regarding all aspects of their workplace issues.

Reporting to the coordinator of the HACSU Assist team, along with the Senior Industrial Officer, the successful applicant will be responsible for assisting members with their enquiries via telephone and email, which will also require the interpretation of clauses within varies Enterprise Agreements. The successful applicant will also be responsible for administration duties when required, for example records management, mail merge, outbound calling etc.

The Assist Support officer will be part of a team of 4 individuals, comprising of the Assist Support role, two Assist Organisers and the Coordinator position. The successful candidate must have good personal skills and be able to assist members with a warm and friendly attitude and support the HACSU Assist team.

 

The person

We are seeking candidates who have a strong understanding of and commitment to the union movement and can confidentially and compassionately speak to members and assist them with their questions. They will also be efficient in basic administrative tasks.

They must also have high level IT skills.

The successful candidate will be innovative, sincere and highly committed to delivering a positive member experience.

Benefits

This is a full-time position (38-hours per week, Monday to Friday) and the successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the HACSU Enterprise Agreement which includes:

  • Generous salary and superannuation package.
  • 5 weeks’ annual leave.
  • 13 Rostered Days Off (RDOs) per year.

The position is based in our office in Carlton, Victoria.

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed and appointment is conditional upon a successful reference check and a probationary period of 6 months.
