The Health and Community Services Union (HACSU) is seeking a full time Senior Industrial Officer to work in the Union's Melbourne office.
HACSU is the Victorian No. 2 Branch of the Health Services Union. HACSU is an industry based union representing Mental Health Nurses, Health Professionals, Alcohol and Other Drug Workers, Disability Support Workers and other Direct Care and Support Staff in Victorian Mental Health and Disability Services. The priority of the union is to grow union strength and influence public policy.
The Senior Industrial Officer is responsible for providing strategic leadership within the Union across the range of the Union’s industrial work including the development and implementation of detailed industrial strategies, provision of industrial and legislative advice, coordination of the Union’s case work, planning and development of industrial campaigns, and representing the Union and members in industrial and associated tribunals.
The position is also responsible for directing the Union’s bargaining agenda and representing the Union with employers, employer associations, other unions, government and other professional bodies.
Under general direction from the Executive of the Union, the Senior Industrial Officer will manage and determine priorities and initiate and take full responsibility for the completion of tasks and projects.
