Certainty for Disability: DHHS EBA Update #1

2016-10-26

HACSU and the Victorian Government have commenced negotiations for a replacement DHHS EBA. So far we have met twice, with meetings scheduled through to the end of the year.

Our preliminary discussions have focused on issues relating to the closure of Colanda Residential Services and the impact of the rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) on materially affected staff working in intake, planning and case management roles.

While HACSU submitted members’ claims in early September, as of today, DHHS management have not tabled their own log of claims.

HACSU members claims can be accessed here.

We are also in the process of establishing a bargaining advisory committee, made up of HACSU members working throughout the DHHS across Victoria. Shortly we will be determining the final representative make-up of the committee and will be in contact with members who have expressed an interest about the arrangements and first meeting date.

Rest assured this will be the first of many updates as bargaining continues. We will continue to keep members updated on negotiations as they progress.

Our campaign for Certainty of decent pay, career structures, conditions, and workplace rights in times of change; will be stronger if all Disability workers are members of HACSU

If you work with someone who isn’t a HACSU member, talk to them and ask them to join. Together we are stronger and together we can win.
