HACSU REACH PUBLIC MENTAL HEALTH EBA FINAL AGREEMENT - BANS SUSPENDED!

2016-12-22

Today HACSU and the VHIA have resolved the outstanding issues for the final drafting of the 2016-2020 Victorian Public Mental Health and Forensicare EBAs.

HACSU can proudly claim to have succeeded in defining the wording of the consultation clause, which has been an important issue for HACSU members.

Further meetings are scheduled for the 6th and 9th of January, where the agreement will be finalised.

HACSU anticipate that the access period, where the agreement will be available for members to view, will be open shortly after this date, with voting to commence (online) soon after.

Consistent with other agreements, HACSU is seeking that the wages and lump sum payments are paid as soon as the approved ballot it declared. HACSU will be in contact with members to confirm timeframes as soon as possible.

As we have resolved all outstanding matters in the drafting of the EBA – All bans will be suspended upon receipt of this notice.

HACSU members are not required to undertake any retrospective duties that were not performed as a result of the bans. If management want HACSU members to perform additional duties, the health services MUST contact the union to consult on this matter.

Any members who are instructed to carry out retrospective work must request this instruction in writing, then forward the information to the union.

We would like to again congratulate members on their hard work over the past 12 months. This EBA campaign has been especially hard fought and has wielded incredible results for all workers across Victorian Public Mental Health Services.

Major wins include an additional 128.8 EFT across the state, staffing was a key HACSU claim in this year’s campaign, not only to tackle ongoing service delivery matters, but for the safety of staff and clients. Major pay increases of between 21 - 28% for Registered Psychiatric nurses, upfront 5% pay increases for clerical, admin and allied services, additional leave and a 5% upfront payment for Mental Health professionals, New educator positions for enrolled nurses and Mental Health Professionals, paid domestic violence leave and much more.
