This news item relates to a previous year - for current HACSU Membership Fees, please
With the financial year drawing to a close, I am writing to let you know that the HACSU Branch Committee of Management has reviewed our membership fees and decided to apply a small increase for some members from 1 July 2019. We will also be introducing a new category for members identified within the Lived Experience workforce.
Please note: if you are currently receiving a fee waiver, this remains in place until the agreed date; these rates will apply once your waiver finishes.
As a strong union of dedicated members, we have continued to achieve wage increases well above the national average. Each member will receive a letter either via email or post which outlines your membership fees for the next twelve months.
From 1 July 2019 the schedule of payments has also been slightly altered to make it easier and simpler for you to pay your fees. Members who pay 4-Weekly will be automatically moved to Monthly payments, with your fees deducted on the first Thursday of every month. For more information about the specific changes please see the attached 2019-20 fee schedule.
Don’t forget – it pays to be a HACSU member! Being part of a specialist union means you’re a part of a collective of members who understand you and your work. Union members also earn more on average than non-unionised workers.
In addition to better wages, collective bargaining, individual representation and legal support for issues at work, your union fees include other important benefits such as:
Tax time is just around the corner; it’s important to remember that your fees are 100% tax deductible.
Thank-you for your continued dedication; as a group of united members, we can achieve greatness.
Yours in Union,
Lloyd Williams
State Secretary
