Does your workplace have Occupational Violence incidents?

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

In order for HACSU to work collaboratively with DHHS to address the issue, we called on the DHHS to provide data to identify workplaces with the greatest incidents of Occupational Violence.

However, so far the DHHS has refused.

Occupational Violence is the cause of most DINMAs, Lost Time Injuries and Workcover claims in DHHS workplaces, the majority of which occur in Disability Accommodation Services [DAS].

HACSU raised concerns about this at a meeting with WorkSafe yesterday.

DAS staff should report all Occupational Violence incidents by:

  • DINMA [for violence against staff] and/or Incident Report [for violence against client/s]
  •

WE ARE CALLING ON HACSU MEMBERS TO HELP US IDENTIFY WORKPLACES WITH INCIDENTS OF OCCUPATIONAL VIOLENCE

Please email Lisa White, Industrial Officer, lisaw@hacsu.asn.au and identify:

  • Your workplace
  • Number of Occupational Violence incidents in past 6 months [approx]
  • If your Designated Work Group [DWG] has an elected Health Safety Representative [HSR]
