Tipping Foundation Backflips on Deal - EBA Finalisation Delayed; HACSU seeks Fair Work Commission intervention

2017-03-20

The Tipping Foundation has informed HACSU that it won’t stick with what it agreed at the Fair work Commission on 3 February. This means the new Enterprise Agreement will be delayed until the issue is sorted out, the Commission has listed a conference for next Wednesday 22 March 2017.

Tipping and HACSU had agreed that the minimum conditions of the Modern Award would apply to employees if those conditions were altered and became more favourable than the Enterprise Agreement – this was the subject of much discussion during the months that the parties were at the Fair Work Commission and is important because the Commission is due to hand down important decisions that may improve entitlements for employees across the country.

Tipping management have now walked away from a settlement deal that was made in the Commission; it shows a contempt for the process in the commission and a contempt for good faith bargaining.

HACSU will do its absolute best to resolve the issues when we return to the Commission next week; however in the event we are not successful members should be prepared to reinstate their protected industrial action.

Look out for updates next Wednesday.
