UPDATE ON $1,000 EBA SIGN-ON PAYMENT FOR DHHS MEMBERS

2018-01-31

HACSU are pleased to advise that we have successfully negotiated that all DHHS employees covered by the EBA will be eligible to receive the $2,000 sign-on payment. The payment will be adjusted pro-rata for part-time and casual employees.

Previously not all casuals were going to receive the payment.

As previously advised, this payment will be paid in two amounts:
• $1,000 upon acceptance of the Victorian Government’s offer of 18 December 2017
• $1,000 upon a valid majority of employees voting to accept the next EBA

For part-time and casual employees, the pro-rata amount will be based on actual hours worked over the preceding 12 month period from the date the payment falls due. This means that for the first $1,000 the pro-rata amount will be calculated from the 12 months prior to 18 December 2017.

We are aware that previous communications put out by the DHHS stated that the first $1,000 was to be paid in this week’s pay, however this was in error. Rest assured, the $1,000 payment will be in your bank accounts once payroll finalises the pro-rata calculation and processes the payments.

The DHHS has advised us that this will be in the fortnightly pay scheduled for the 15th February 2018.
