Yes to Equality!

Let's make marriage equality happen.

HACSU is a longstanding supporter of marriage equality. Since 1911, we have stood up for imporant issues, whether it is action on climate change, refugees, equality, or opposing war & conflict. Although the vast majority of our work is about improving the pay and conditions of working people, we also fight for the bigger issues of fairness and dignity for everyone in our society.

Throughout the marriage law "postal survey" HACSU activists have run enrolment drives, phonebanks and workplace action. HACSU activists made over 1000 calls to members encouraging them to vote yes and make sure their survey made its way into a ballot box. HACSU members are wearing rainbow lanyards in workplaces across the state and there's still time to enter the Most Rainbow Workplace competition and win a $100 voucher for you and your workmates!

While the ABS recommends putting your vote in the post box before 27th October to ensure it counts, technically voiting closes on November 7th, with the results announced on November 15th.

DO YOU HAVE THE #MostRainbowWorkplace?

Send in a photo of your and your workmates showing your iuunion pride and support for equality.

You could be wearing your rainbow lanyards, holding Yes posters, making a rainbow out of post-its, making rainbow cookies for your team, you name it!

How to enter:

Post it to the HACSU Facebook page or email Amy amyj[at]hacsu.asn.au by Melbourne Cup Day (Tuesday November 7th) and you could win a $100 Coles Myer voucher to share with your workmates.
