Are you an excellent communicator and relationship-builder, with a passion for supporting working people? If so – an exciting opportunity has opened at the Health and Community Services Union (HACSU) for a full-time Area Organiser.
HACSU is one of Victoria’s fastest growing unions. Our members are at the forefront of nation-changing initiatives such as the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and reforms to the Victorian public mental health system. HACSU is the Victorian No2 Branch of the Health Services Union.
We are seeking a highly motivated and driven individual who can work with HACSU leadership and build relationships with HACSU members and delegates.
Reporting to the Lead of Organising, the successful applicant will be responsible for members and delegates in a geographical area and providing them with advice, representation, and organising the workforce which will include getting members active in campaigns that HACSU are facilitating, including campaigns around Enterprise Agreements.
The successful candidate must have good leadership skills and must be able to motivate members and delegates as being able to provide them with ongoing development and support.
We are seeking candidates who have a strong understanding of and commitment to the union movement and can confidentially represent members with employers and before Tribunals such as the Fair Work Commission
They must also have strong leadership skills as well as IT skills.
The successful candidate will be innovative, creative and highly motivated.

This is a full-time position (38-hours per week, Monday to Friday) and the successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the HACSU Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2024 which includes:
