The HSU rules state that:
(c) Where the member ceases to be eligible to become a member of the Union, the notice of resignation will take effect on the later of the following two dates:
(ii) on the day specified in the notice, which is a day not earlier than the day when the member ceased to be eligible to become a member.
(ii) on the day specified in the notice.
We will accept emails addressed to email@example.com, faxes to (03) 9650 8122, faxes to (03) 9662 4591 or letters to PO Box 206, Carlton South, VIC 3053. Please address your resignation letter to "The Branch Secretary", and note the relevant notice period as per the HSU rules.
If you are unemployed, on extended leave (e.g. on maternity leave or time off due to WorkCover matter) or on unpaid leave, please contact our membership team prior to resigning as waivers are available.
It helps us to know why people are leaving the union, so we'd greatly appreciate it if you could include a brief explanation in your resignation notice (e.g. retirement, changing industries, moving interstate).
