HACSU advocacy at Ballarat Health!

2019-05-31

At our last members meeting at Ballarat Health, Mental Health Services we heard of concerns that the culture of bullying may be returning to the organisation. HACSU members worked tirelessly in recent years to stamp out bad behaviour including institutionalised bullying and harassment of members.

At the request of members, HACSU officials wrote to the Department of Health and Human Services to advise of the issue.

We heard back yesterday and were advised that the issue is being taken very seriously and will be addressed. Visitors from the Department will be attending Ballarat Health this coming Monday 3rd of June to discuss these issues.

We’ve also agreed that an updated Culture Survey will be distributed to members at Ballarat Health to determine where the issues may be.

Keep your eye out – we’ll soon release the survey to all members, and we encourage you to take part! The survey will be anonymous and will help us to identify any issues and stamp out any bullying that takes place. To find out more, you can speak to Area Organiser Jess - JessicaA@hacsu.asn.au
