Register for the 2020 Collab!

The 21st Victorian Collaborative Mental Health Nursing Conference will be an online event this year. 

The event, which is jointly hosted by The Centre for Psychiatric Nursing, Australian Nursing & Midwifery Foundation and HACSU, will celebrate and showcase the specialist practice of mental health nursing. 

Nurses at all stages of their career are welcome, as well as academics and researchers. 

The event will take place over Monday 9 and Tuesday 10 November 2020, and you can register here  

The program for the event is now available. 

You'll get to hear from some wonderful keynote speakers, including Dr John Ollife, Matt Ball, Cath Roper and Anna Love. 

Dr John Ollife is a Professor and Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in Men's Health Promotion at the School of Nursing,  University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada. Dr John's work focuses on the masculinities in the areas of male suicide prevention, psychosocial prostate cancer care and smoking cessation amongst fathers. 

Matt Ball is a mental health nurse practitioner and founder/ director at Humane Clinic . He is internationally recognised for his work in developing the "dissociachotic"  approach. After being awarded the 2017 Australian Mental Health Nurse of the Year, he has delivered training and consultancy nationally and internationally on understanding and responding to extreme states and other meaningful human experiences. 

Cath Roper has held the pioneering Consumer Academic role at the Centre for Psychiatric Nursing since 2000 after being one of the first four consumer consultants in Melbourne. She is a consumer perspective educational specialist who is currently providing advice to the Royal Commission into Victoria's mental health system. 

Anna Love is Victoria's Chief Mental Health Nurse, Department of Health and Human Services. She has been in this role for five years. Anna has worked in both Inpatient and Community settings as a clinician, manager and Director of Nursing in both Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug services.
